... Your Invitation
Christ Church is a place of great historical interest, but it exists primarily as a place of worship. You can find details of our regular worship services, and of any special services or celebrations that are happening at this time, from the list of options on the left - just follow the links from "Regular Services" and "Special/Seasonal Services", whilst other events and activities are listed under "Upcoming Events". The services continue throughout the year, although in January some are in recess - details are listed in the links from the menu on the left of this page....
We invite you to visit us, come and join us for worship, contact the Parish with enquiries, or use the beauty and serenity of the church and its surrounds to pray for your own concerns, or to just take some time to sit and think. Whether you are visiting or have moved to live in Geelong, you are welcome to come and be part of the community at Christ Church.
|.... on Sunday 14th July Bp Kate Prowd was the Celebrant and Preacher at the 9.30am service.... and was also the guest speaker on 15th July at the Meals Program Thanksgiving Service.... you can re-visit these celebrations from the 'Recent Celebrations' in the left hand menu!|
We would like to think that the words of the prayer below may be true of our worship at Christ Church -
O God, make the door of this house wide enough
to receive all who need human love and fellowship,
yet narrow enough to shut out all envy, pride and strife.
Make its threshold smooth enough to be no stumbling-block to children, nor to straying feet,
but rugged and strong enough to turn back the power of temptation.
God make the door of this house the gateway to your eternal kingdom. Amen.
a Church open and available to all...
This famous, historic church is open on most weekdays from noon to 2pm for those who would like a quiet space to think or to pray, away from the noise and bustle of the city. For those interested in the historic aspects of the Church and its stunning stained glass windows, and the historic Waller mural, there is a brochure available to help visitors find their way.
