... Welcome to Christ Church! ** CORONA UPDATE **

... Your Invitation

... we welcome and and include everyone regardless of race, culture, age, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation, and regardless of whether or not you have worshipped in another denomination or religion before.

We encourage everyone to listen to and respect one another, and our community is guided by kindness, generosity and grace and, above all, by God's love for all.

Even during the restrictions imposed by the current world health crisis, we invite you to be part of the worship community at Christ Church.

.... like the world community, the Anglican Church and Christ Church Geelong have been affected by the continuing impact of the Corona virus. ... and on 21st March the Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne, Abp Philip Freier, advised all parishes that effective from Monday 23rd March

ALL SERVICES AND PARISH ACTIVITIES ARE SUSPENDED

until further notice. This applies to services and other parish gatherings, large or small, and whether on or off the church/parish premises. It reflects the seriousness of the pandemic and the liklihood of its continuing transmission across the community but, as Abp Freier emphasized, "... this is not a closure of ministry". You can read the full text of Abp Freier's Clerum (message to Parishes) here.

For Christ Church this means that ALL regular Sunday and weekday services, and ALL other Parish activities on and off the Parish site, will not be taking place for the foreseeable future.

But for those who are at home during this crisis, there are resources available to help you in your daily spiritual life and prayers - click here for resources you can use at home, including a Form of Service for use at home or in small groups, Readings and Prayers, the weekly Pew Notices, other information about what is happening across the Parish, and view/listen to a Message from Fr Russell or one of our other clergy. These resources will be updated at least weekly, before each Sunday. The quarterly Parish Magazine, the Chronicle, is also available on-line via the link in the menu at left.

As this situation changes, the Parish will do everything possible to notify you of changes and updates via this web page and our Facebook page, by email and mobile phone message, as appropriate.

Perhaps especially during these difficult times, and even from your living room at home or your back yard, it is important that you continue to worship as part of the community at Christ Church!
